Three men of Indian origin have been sent to jail in the UK. They were involved in serious fighting at a Kabaddi game in Alvaston in 2023.

Who Was Jailed?

The men sent to prison are:

  1. Boota Singh, 35
  2. Damanjit Singh, 35
  3. Rajvinder Takhar Singh, 42

A court in Derby found them guilty in November 2023. They were sentenced on December 19.

What Happened During the Match?

The violence started on Sunday, August 20, 2023, just before 4 PM. It happened at a Kabaddi tournament near Elvaston Lane.

  • Two groups began to fight.
  • People reported hearing gunshots.
  • Witnesses saw people fighting with weapons.

What the Police Found

Police looked at video recordings of the event:

  • The videos showed Boota Singh running after people from the other group. He did not have a weapon at that moment.
  • Two days later, police stopped his car and found two large knives (machetes) in the boot.
  • Videos also showed Damanjit Singh and Rajvinder Takhar Singh carrying big knives during the fight.
