Deadly Shooting at South African Pub
Early on Sunday morning, nine people were killed and ten others were hurt in a terrible shooting at a pub in South Africa. This happened in Bekkersdal, a poor area about 40 kilometers (25 miles) southwest of Johannesburg.
What Happened?
Police say the attack took place just before 1 AM. About twelve attackers arrived in two vehicles โ a white van (kombi) and a silver car (sedan). They started shooting at people inside and outside the pub. The gunmen continued to shoot randomly as they ran away from the scene. Some victims were also shot in nearby streets as the attackers escaped.

Police Search for Attackers
Police first said 10 people died, but later changed the number to nine. One of the people killed was a driver for an online car service, who was waiting outside the bar.
A big search has started to find the people who did this. Police are asking anyone who saw what happened to come forward and help. The reason for the shooting is still not known.

This attack in Bekkersdal is the second big shooting reported in South Africa this month:
