Fact Checking Policy

This policy describes how we verify information before it is published on our platform.

1. Sources of information

Our stories are based on a combination of:

  • Official statements, government notifications and court orders.
  • Press releases and briefings from reputable institutions and organisations.
  • Accredited news agencies and trusted media partners.
  • On‑the‑record statements from individuals and subject‑matter experts.

2. Verification steps

Whenever possible, editors:

  • Cross‑check key facts with at least one additional credible source.
  • Review figures, dates, names and designations against official documents.
  • Clearly attribute information to its original source within the article.

3. Use of AI and automated tools

AI tools may be used to help summarise or rewrite source material. Such tools are not treated as independent sources. Editorial staff remain responsible for reviewing AI‑assisted content for factual accuracy, clarity and context before publication.

4. Handling contested claims

When information is disputed, we aim to:

  • Present the position of all relevant sides, with clear attribution.
  • Avoid presenting unverified allegations as established facts.
  • Update stories if additional verification changes the assessment of a claim.

If you believe we have published a factual error, please see our Correction Policy for details on how to request a correction.
