A Sad Story from Vadodara: Father Killed by Daughter's Boyfriend
In a shocking event in Padra village, Vadodara, a 45-year-old man was killed. Police say his own 17-year-old daughter planned the murder with her boyfriend. The father was killed because he was strongly against their relationship and used to lock his daughter in a room.
How the Plan Unfolded
The police stated that the girl tried to make her parents sleep two times before she finally succeeded. Hereโs how the murder plan unfolded:
- First Attempt (December 16): The girl mixed sleeping pills in water for her parents. But her mother found the taste strange and did not drink it.
- Second Attempt: On Tuesday night, the girl put sleeping pills in her parents' food. To check if they were asleep, she made a noise. Her mother woke up, forcing the girl and her boyfriend to stop the plan again.
- Third Attempt (December 18): On the night of December 18, she again put sleeping pills in their food. This time, both her parents fell into a deep sleep.
The Deadly Attack
After her parents were asleep, the girl called her boyfriend, Ranjit Waghela (25). Ranjit came to their home with his friend, Bhavya Vasava (23).
Ranjit then repeatedly stabbed the father, Shana Chavda. The daughter watched this terrible event from the window of the room where she was locked. Her mother was sleeping beside her in the same room.
Background of the Accused
Ranjit Waghela was already known to the family:
- Earlier, Shana (the father) had filed a case against Ranjit under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) because Ranjit was in a relationship with his minor daughter.
- Ranjit was arrested but later got bail.
- About two weeks before the murder, Ranjit had a fight with Shana when he was seen with the girl.
- Shana's brother, Moti (50), suspected Ranjit from the start. Moti told the police that Ranjit had threatened to kill anyone in the family who stopped him from marrying the girl.
Police Investigation
Police Superintendent (SP) Sushil Agrawal said that the father used to lock his daughter and wife, Bhavna, in a room at night. He did this because he was very much against his daughter's relationship. He was especially strict because his older daughter had also married someone he didn't approve of.
The police have arrested Ranjit Waghela and Bhavya Vasava. They are also investigating how the accused managed to get so many sleeping pills.
