Elderly Man Dies After Gravel Truck Overturns Outside His Home in Gwalior
A 92-year-old man sadly died in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday afternoon. A large truck carrying gravel turned over while it was passing his house. The man, named Girraj Prasad Sharma, was sitting on a platform outside his home in Arnav Green City, enjoying the sun.
Suddenly, a back wheel of the truck sank into the road. The truck lost its balance and fell over, trapping Mr. Sharma underneath. He was stuck for almost an hour before a crane arrived to lift the heavy vehicle.
A camera from a nearby house recorded the whole incident. People living nearby quickly called the police. Mr. Sharma was rushed to the trauma centre at Jayarogya Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead as soon as he arrived.
Mr. Sharma was originally from Bharatpur. He had been living with his grandson, Satish Sharma, for about 7 to 8 years. Satish works in a private factory and lives with his wife and children in Arnav Green City. After all the necessary checks (post-mortem), family members took Mr. Sharma's body back to Bharatpur.
The driver and cleaner of the truck ran away from the scene after the accident. Police have taken the truck and started a case. They are now searching for the people who were driving and cleaning the vehicle.
