Delhi University Student Dies After Family Argument
A 27-year-old Delhi University student was fatally stabbed in Sangam Vihar, South Delhi, on Friday. The incident reportedly arose from a family dispute regarding cleanliness and cow dung disposal.
Arrests Made in Connection to the Stabbing
Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the crime: the victim's aunt and a 15-year-old relative. Authorities are currently searching for two additional suspects.
The Dispute: Cow Dung and Cleanliness
Preliminary investigations suggest that the argument stemmed from a disagreement over keeping the area around the families' homes clean. The victim's mother owns a buffalo, leading to recurring disputes with her sister-in-law about cow dung.
How the Incident Unfolded
The argument escalated on Friday, prompting the victim, a first-year LLB student, to intervene. According to reports, the aunt then allegedly summoned her husband, son, and a minor to the scene. A scuffle ensued, during which the student was stabbed.
Eyewitness Account
The victim's sister, Nagma, stated that her mother was discussing waste disposal with a neighbor when the aunt allegedly began verbally abusing her. She claims her brother initially escorted their mother inside, but was attacked upon stepping back outside.
According to Nagma:
- "One person held my brother from behind."
- "Another stabbed him."
Police Response
Police received a PCR call around 11:30 am and arrived at the scene to find the student injured. He was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
