Ukraine Shows Russian Soldiers Using Horses on Battlefield

The Ukrainian army has shared a video that shows Russian soldiers moving on horses towards the front lines. Ukraine says this video proves that Russia is running out of military equipment during the war.

Drones Spot Russian Troops

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) reported that soldiers from the 5th Assault Battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade found these Russian soldiers. They used drones to watch their movements, according to Kyiv Post.

The video was posted on the 92nd Brigade's official Facebook page. It includes comments from the Ukrainian soldiers who were part of the operation.

Why Are Russians Using Horses?

The Ukrainian brigade stated that Russian forces are losing their military vehicles and gear very quickly in their attacks. Because of these rapid losses, they are forced to use unusual ways to move, like riding horses.

  • The brigade said: "Russian occupiers are losing equipment so quickly during their 'meat assaults' that they are forced to move on horseback. But even this does not help them."
  • They added that Ukrainian drone operators "neutralize the enemy as soon as they see a target."

Drone Strikes on Horseback Soldiers

The video clearly shows a Russian soldier riding across open land. A drone tracks him from above. A short time later, the drone attacks as the soldier tries to escape.

The footage then shows another rider being targeted. The explosion knocks the horse to the ground and throws the rider off.

Ukrainian officials confirmed that the riders were killed. They stated that drones were used to defend Ukrainian positions.

Ukrainian Reactions to the Video

Ukrainian commentators believe this incident shows how hard it is for Russia to break through areas that are heavily watched and defended.

Mykola Voroshnov, a Ukrainian soldier and activist, called the scene "extraordinary" and "insane." He wrote that cavalry attacking positions is unbelievable.

Voroshnov also mentioned that military pilot groups are now discussing and confirming such events. He expressed sadness for the animals involved in the conflict.

Other Equipment Shortages

Before this, there were reports that Russian ground forces were also using donkeys for transport and logistics in some areas. This was also due to a lack of vehicles and other equipment.
