Security Forces Search for Terrorists in J&K
On Sunday, security forces started looking for terrorists in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir. This happened after terrorists reportedly took food from a house in a village and then ran into a nearby forest.
What Happened in Chore Motu Village
Officials said that police and paramilitary forces are working together. They are searching in Chore Motu village and nearby forest areas in the Majalta region. This place is about five kilometers west of where a policeman was killed in a fight before.
On Saturday evening, officials got important information. It said that two unknown terrorists visited Mangtu Ram's house in Chore Motu village around 6:30 PM and took food.
As soon as this information came, police and army-like forces went to the area quickly. But officials said the terrorists had already left before the forces arrived.
After this, the forest around the village was blocked off. Early on Sunday morning, a big search was started from many sides. The goal is to find and stop the terrorists, officials explained.
Previous Incident in the Same Area
This new search happens just days after another dangerous fight in the same area. On December 15, a policeman died in Soan village, Majalta, during a gunfight with terrorists.
Security forces had learned that Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists were in the area. In that earlier incident, the terrorists got away because of the thick trees and darkness.
