Nicki Minaj Makes Surprise Appearance at AmericaFest
Famous rapper Nicki Minaj made a surprise visit to Turning Point USA's AmericaFest on Sunday. She joined Erika Kirk, who is the wife of the late MAGA supporter Charlie Kirk, for a question-and-answer session.
Minaj Shares Political Views and Praises Trump
During the session, Minaj answered many questions from Erika Kirk. She told young men to have "handsome, dashing" qualities, similar to former President Donald Trump.
Minaj also joked about California's governor, Gavin Newsom, who is a Democratic leader. She asked people not to like him.
She explained that Trump "has given so many people hope that there’s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win and to do it with your head held high." Erika Kirk also remembered that Charlie liked to bring surprise guests to these events.
From Democrat Supporter to Republican Advocate
Nicki Minaj used to support Democrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. However, she has recently shown strong support for Republicans.
She praised both Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. She said they are good at connecting with the American people. Minaj also criticized Governor Newsom for his views on transgender children.
Discussing Faith and Activism
During the discussion, Minaj spoke openly about her religious journey and her efforts to help others. She specifically talked about the harm faced by Christians in Nigeria. She stated, "We won’t be silenced ever again; we will speak up for Christians wherever they are in this world."
She had previously praised Trump for wanting to stop such terrible acts in Nigeria. Minaj added, "I just got tired of being pushed around... I’m not going to back down anymore. I’m not going to back down ever again."
Erika Kirk and JD Vance React
Minaj also called JD Vance an "assassin" while speaking to Erika Kirk.
Erika Kirk responded, saying, "I love this woman. She's an amazing woman. She has a soul and a heart for the Lord... And you say what you wanna say because I know your heart."
Later, JD Vance himself praised Nicki Minaj. He said her appearance helped him with a personal worry. He had wondered if she thought he looked like a famous internet picture (meme) of him. He was happy to confirm that Minaj knows what he truly looks like, calling it the "best tribute" he could imagine.
