Indian Navy Chief Optimistic About Future Bangladesh Relations
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Tripathi expressed his continued hope for positive relations with Bangladesh, referring to the country as a friend. He acknowledged the current challenging situation but remains optimistic about future improvements.

โWe are training their personnel here. I just met a Bangladeshi officer cadet who passed out from the NDA this morning," he stated, reaffirming the continued partnership.
Addressing Security Concerns: Hypersonic Missiles and Underwater Warfare
Admiral Tripathi also addressed questions regarding Pakistan's successful testing of hypersonic anti-ship ballistic missiles and the challenges of underwater warfare.
Hypersonic Missile Development
He acknowledged the development of hypersonic missiles as a national priority, stating that Indian scientists are actively working on similar technologies in collaboration with the DRDO and the industry.
"We too are grappling with this at the national level. Many of our scientists are working on it."
Underwater Domain Challenges
Regarding underwater warfare, Admiral Tripathi emphasized the complexities and challenges it presents, even for superpowers. He mentioned the development of underwater drones for various purposes, including anti-submarine warfare and mine detection.
"The underwater domain will remain complex," he stated.
Addressing Concerns About Chinese Spy Ships
Admiral Tripathi dismissed reports suggesting that the presence of Chinese spy ships in the South China Sea was causing delays in missile testing. He suggested that such reports might be fabricated.
Monitoring Fishing Trawlers and Maritime Security
He also emphasized the Indian Navy's commitment to preventing unauthorized entry of fishing trawlers into Indian waters. Vessels found fishing in Indian waters are immediately expelled.
