Latest Epstein Files Update: Donald Trump Named in Private Jet Flight Records

Breaking news from the recently released Jeffrey Epstein documents shows that former US President Donald Trump was a passenger on Epstein's private plane multiple times. These new details come from an internal email that was part of a large collection of files made public by the US Department of Justice.

What the New Documents Reveal

According to an email dated January 7, 2020, Donald Trump traveled on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet more often than previously known. The email, part of a chain discussing "Epstein flight records," states that Trump is listed as a passenger on at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996.

  • Trump was present on at least four of these flights alongside Ghislaine Maxwell.
  • Other passengers included his then-wife Marla Maples, his daughter Tiffany, and his son Eric.

Specific Flight Details Emerge

The newly revealed email highlights some specific instances of these flights:

  • On one flight in 1993, only Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were listed as passengers.
  • Another flight showed Epstein, Trump, and a then-20-year-old individual (whose name remains private).
  • Two other flights included women who might be important witnesses in a case involving Ghislaine Maxwell.

Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in 2022 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Her crimes included working with Epstein to lure and traffic underage girls for illegal sex acts.

DOJ Responds to Claims

Following the release of these latest Epstein files, the Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a statement. They indicated that some of the newly public documents contained "untrue and sensationalist claims" about Donald Trump. These claims, the DOJ noted, were given to the FBI just before the 2020 US election.

The DOJ clarified in an online post, "To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already."

Trump's Relationship with Epstein

Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were known to be friends for several years. However, Trump has previously stated that their friendship ended around 2004, which was years before Epstein's initial arrest for sex crimes. Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein, and his name appearing on flight manifests does not automatically prove illegal activity.

Why These Documents Are Being Released Now

This email is part of a massive release of at least 8,000 documents by the US Department of Justice this week. The release comes after public criticism about delays and censored information, and it was mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act. This act received almost full support from Congress.

Beyond emails, the new material includes hundreds of video and audio files. It also features surveillance footage from August 2019, the month Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his jail cell. At the time, he was awaiting trial on serious sex trafficking charges.
