A devastating incident has shocked Bengaluru, where a 20-year-old woman from Manipur lost her life after being hit by a BMTC electric bus. The tragic fatal accident occurred on Friday morning near the KR Pura railway station, prompting a swift police response and the arrest of the bus driver.

The victim, identified as Hannah Inka, a beautician originally from Manipur and residing in Marathahalli, was riding pillion on a gearless scooter with her cousin, Chun Sabha Inka. The unfortunate event unfolded around 9:30 AM. According to police reports, a BMTC electric bus (bearing registration KA-51-AK-0576) collided with the scooter from behind.
The impact caused both riders to be thrown onto the road. While Hannah's cousin, Sabha Inka, fell to the left side and escaped serious injury, Hannah tragically fell to the right. The front wheel of the large public transport vehicle then ran over her. She was immediately rushed to the KR Pura government hospital, but doctors sadly declared her dead upon arrival.
Driver Arrested, Charges Filed
Following the horrific road tragedy, the driver of the BMTC electric bus, Chandrakanth, was promptly apprehended by the authorities. He has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
