BCCI Raises Pay for Women Domestic Cricketers Across All Levels

BCCI Announces Major Pay Hike for Women Domestic Cricketers

Indian women cricketers have received another reason to celebrate after winning their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup in November 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a big increase in match fees for women players in domestic tournaments.

Big Increase in Daily Match Fees

The BCCI has decided to more than double the daily match fees for women domestic cricketers, marking an important step for women’s cricket in India.

New Pay Structure for Senior Women Players

  • Earlier: Playing XI – Rs 20,000 per day | Reserves – Rs 10,000 per day
  • Now (Long-format matches): Playing XI – Rs 50,000 per day | Reserves – Rs 25,000 per day
  • Now (T20 matches): Playing XI – Rs 25,000 per day | Reserves – Rs 12,500 per day

New Pay Structure for Junior Women Players

  • Earlier: Playing XI – Rs 10,000 per day | Reserves – Rs 5,000 per day
  • Now (Long-format matches): Playing XI – Rs 25,000 per day | Reserves – Rs 12,500 per day
  • Now (T20 matches): Playing XI – Rs 12,500 per day | Reserves – Rs 6,250 per day

Players to Earn Much More Per Season

Earlier, a senior woman cricketer earned around Rs 2 lakh for a full domestic season if her team played only league matches. With the new pay rates, players’ earnings will increase significantly.

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said, “We have more than doubled the match fees for India’s domestic women cricketers. We are continuing the work started by Jay Shah, who brought equal pay for India’s international men and women players.”

BCCI to Review Under-19 Team Performance

The BCCI is also concerned about India’s poor performance in the Under-19 Asia Cup final, where the team suffered a heavy 191-run defeat to Pakistan in Dubai.

Rajeev Shukla said the board will hold a detailed meeting to find ways to improve Under-19 cricket. This review is important as the next Under-19 World Cup will be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15, 2026.

The board will seek a report from team manager Salil Datar and hold discussions with head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar, bowling coach Sunil Joashi, and team captain Ayush Mhatre. The BCCI is also worried about poor player behaviour during the tense final match.
